Agivar Cloud Desktop Guide
Welcome to Agivar Cloud Desktop. This guide walks you through the full flow, from creating a cloud desktop to using it, saving your work, and releasing it when you are done.
1. What Is a Cloud Desktop?
A cloud desktop is a computer that runs in the cloud. You do not need to buy or maintain any hardware. After connecting through Agivar, you get a ready-to-use Windows desktop environment that you can use from anywhere.
You can think of it as a rented cloud computer: create it when you need it, use it while it is billed by time, and save its data as an image if you want to restore it later.
2. Getting Started
Step 1: Create a Cloud Desktop
After signing in to Agivar, go to the "Cloud Desktop" page and click "Create Cloud Desktop" in the upper-right corner.
Enter a name, choose an image template, and click "Create".

Tip: The first hour of server credits is deducted immediately after creation starts, even while the desktop is still in the "Creating" state.
Step 2: Open the Cloud Desktop
When creation is complete, find the desktop in the cloud desktop list and click "Connect". Agivar opens the remote desktop session so you can operate it like a local computer.

Step 3: Close the Cloud Desktop Window
Clicking the "X" close button in the cloud desktop window disconnects your current session immediately. Programs inside the cloud desktop continue running, and billing continues. To stop the running programs and stop billing, release the cloud desktop after closing the connection. See "Restart and Release" below for details.
3. Cloud Desktop Statuses
The cloud desktop list shows different statuses:
- Creating: The desktop is being initialized. Please wait. Billing has already started.
- Running: The desktop is ready and can be connected normally.
- Releasing / Released: The desktop is being deleted or has already been deleted. Data cannot be recovered.
4. Saving Data with Images
Cloud desktop data is not saved permanently by default. After you release a desktop, the files and environment inside it are removed. To keep data such as generated files, installed software, or environment settings, use the image feature.
What is an image?
An image is a full backup of the current cloud desktop. It saves the desktop's software, files, and settings. When you create a new desktop from that image, the new desktop starts with the same content as the backup.
How do I save an image?
In the cloud desktop list, find your desktop, click "Save as Image", enter an image name, and confirm. After the image is saved, it appears in the "Image Management" list.
Tip: Creating an image can take some time, usually 5 to 30 minutes.

How do I create a new desktop from an image?
When creating a cloud desktop, select the image you saved in the "Image Template" option. The new desktop will be restored to the state captured by that image.
Note: You can keep up to 5 images. If you reach the limit, delete an old image before saving a new one.
5. Restart and Release
Restart a cloud desktop
If the desktop becomes slow or behaves abnormally, click "Restart". Agivar restarts the desktop. Do not close the page while the restart is in progress; wait until it completes.
Release a cloud desktop
When you no longer need a cloud desktop, choose "Release". After release, the desktop is permanently deleted, all data is cleared, and billing stops.
Important: Save an image before releasing the desktop if you need to keep any data. Data cannot be recovered after release.
6. Credits and Billing
Agivar Cloud Desktop uses credit-based billing.
When are credits deducted?
- Server credits are deducted by the hour while the desktop is in the "Running" state.
- Billing stops after the desktop is released. Traffic fees may be settled up to one day later.
What if I do not have enough credits?
When your credit balance is low, Agivar reminds you to top up. If your credits run out, the cloud desktop may be automatically saved as an image. Please keep an eye on your credit balance.
7. FAQ
Q: My cloud desktop stays in "Creating" for a while. Is that normal?
A: Yes. Cloud desktop initialization usually takes 1 to 5 minutes. Please wait and refresh the page to check the latest status.
Q: If I close the connection, is the cloud desktop still running?
A: Yes. Closing the connection does not stop the cloud desktop. It keeps running in the cloud and continues to be billed.
Q: How do I transfer files from the cloud desktop to my local computer?
A: You can use the remote desktop file transfer feature, or transfer files through cloud storage such as a drive service.
Q: I accidentally released my desktop. Can I recover the data?
A: Unfortunately, no. Data cannot be recovered after release. We recommend saving images regularly to avoid data loss.
